Brenda L. Venice is a Fall River politician and President of the Bristol County, MA chapter of NAMI, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She ran her first political campaign in 2015 and successfully obtained a seat on the newly formed Charter Commission.

Political Career

In 2015, Brenda Venice pulled papers for the Charter Commission race, making her one of 15 candidates and the only woman in the race. As the Commission has only nine seats, a preliminary election was not held and the Nov. 3rd election would determine who would be elected. Also note that the Charter Commission was being voted on the same night, and if not supported by a majority of voters, it would not have been established.

On election night, Venice came in eighth place, garnering 3,091 votes, or 5.99%.
